Facultad de Ingeniería y Ciencias Hídricas (FICH)

Unique in the region and the country, the Faculty of Engineering and Water Sciences (FICH) in the Universidad Nacional del Litoral (UNL) was created in 1985 from the Department of General and Applied Hydrology, founded in May 1970. Throughout its history, the FICH has followed a path of balanced growth in its main activities – teaching, research, and knowledge transfer - while providing an opportunity for satisfying society’s demands and requirements using a holistic approach.

Within this framework, the teaching and research activities – originally orientated towards water resources - have been focussed on other engineering fields. This brought about a significant increase in graduate and postgraduate degree courses, an increase and diversification of research programmes, as well as growing activity in community-led projects and provision of specialised technological services.

The FICH is renowned as a beacon of high quality in the country, not only for teaching excellence but also for the scientific advancement in related areas and the continual search for innovative solutions to the community’s needs.

The FICH is located in the UNL university campus, which brings together faculties, schools and research institutes.
